Homebuyer Education

The Washington County CDA offers you convenient, tailored opportunities to become a smart, successful homeowner.

In-Person Classes: Home Stretch

Home Stretch is an eight-hour education course that prepares participants for the homebuying process. The classroom-style workshop is taught by expert instructors from the non-profit, real estate, and lending industries. Home Stretch is a requirement for most homebuyer assistance programs.
Registration for Home Stretch classes is handled through Eventbrite. Click here for a list of current class dates and to sign up. The fee is $40, except for June classes, which are free to honor National Homeownership Month! To register online, you'll need to pay with a credit or debit card. If you have questions, or are unable to register online, give us a call at 651-202-2822.

All workshops are located at our office in Woodbury. For workshops in other locations, please go to the Minnesota Homeownership Center's website. The CDA reserves the right to cancel a class due to inclement weather or if three or fewer households are registered for a workshop and canceling does not impact their closing dates. If the CDA should cancel a class for any reason, all fees paid to the CDA will be reimbursed in full.

Online Classes: Framework

For those who need greater flexibility, Framework provides an online homebuyer education course that can be completed at home or on the go. Complete modules on your computer or tablet, or even on your phone! Framework satisfies the homebuyer education requirements for Fannie Mae HomePath Ready Buyer™ and HomeReady® by Fannie Mae, but you should always check with your lender to make sure your specific requirements are being met. The course is affordable as well: just $75. It is our duty to inform you that The Washington County CDA can and may receive a $60 referral fee should you sign-up using this link for Framework Online Home Buyer Education.
